What the option strategy builder does
Pick any combination of calls and puts — buy or sell, any strike, any expiry — and the builder prices them from the option chain and draws the payoff graph instantly. You see the maximum profit, maximum loss, breakeven points, net premium, probability of profit and the combined Greeks of the whole position, before you place a single order.
Two payoff lines are shown: the profit or loss on expiry, and on a target date you choose. Drag the target price and date to see how the same trade behaves if the market moves tomorrow versus on expiry day — the effect of time decay becomes obvious.
How to build a strategy in three steps
- Choose the symbol in the bar at the top (NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, FINNIFTY, SENSEX or any F&O stock) and an expiry.
- Open Create your own and tap B (buy) or S (sell) next to any strike — or load one of 30+ ready-made strategies such as the bull call spread, short strangle or iron condor.
- Read the payoff graph, P&L table and Greeks. Adjust lots, strikes or prices and save the strategy to compare later.

Questions? We have Answers.
Where are my saved strategies stored?
Saved strategies are stored in your own browser on this device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Which prices does the strategy builder use?
Each leg is priced from the option chain for its expiry (last traded price, or the bid/ask midpoint when there is no trade). The data can be delayed, so you can override any price by typing your own entry price.
How is the probability of profit calculated?
It is a model estimate: the chance that the underlying ends in the profitable zone at expiry, using a lognormal distribution with the at-the-money implied volatility. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.
Can I place orders from the strategy builder?
No. optionchain.in is an analysis tool and is not connected to any broker. Use it to plan and understand a trade, then place orders with your own broker.
Does it include brokerage and taxes?
No. Profit and loss figures are gross. Brokerage, STT, exchange charges, GST and stamp duty will reduce real-world returns.
